Here are the ingredients and directions for this Immune boosting drink. I have made it several times and have tweeked it a bit to where I think it is at it's best. It's a nice soothing drink on a cold day as well, just for a change.
4 cups cold water
2 Tbsp. whole flaked oatmeal
one six inch cinnamon stick (break into three equal pieces)
Place all ingredients in a heavy pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and place cover on pot. Let simmer for 30 minutes. You want a very low boil so check pot often as it may boil over. Let sit in pot to cool once done then strain into large jar (leaving one piece of cinnamon in the jar, as it gives the liquid a sweeter and more cinnamony taste the longer it sits). Cover jar with lid. You can leave on counter and finish all the liquid over the period of a day. Put in fridge if not drinking it all the same day. You can drink cold or reheat it in a pot or microwave to enjoy it hot.
